Domain Name Registration

TACWeb is a Network Solutions Premier Partner and can handle every aspect of registering or transferring your domain name.

Network Solutions Partner

To register or transfer your domain name call TACWeb today at 1-800-235-6865.

To see if a domain name is available for registration, go to Network Solutions Whois: www.netsol.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois/ .

TACWeb will handle every step of your registration.
TAC will file the necessary paperwork, complete the registration and set up our dns, web and mail servers to host your domain name. This service is included in our one-time setup fee of $50 for all websites.

In addition, there is the yearly registration fee from Network Solutions. However because we are a Network Solutions Partner, we can register and renew domains for our clients at a discounted rate of only $17 per year (normally $35 per year), plus a 15% handling fee.

Use your domain with our without the www.
TACWeb automatically sets up its DNS Servers to host your domain name so you can get to your website with or without using the www. So you can use either www.yourcompany.com or just yourcompany.com as the address to your website.

Note: With TACWeb you can have as many domain names point to the same website as you want with no additional hosting fees (only one-time domain setup/reg fee).

Domain Name Q&A

You can also have more than one domain name for your website.
Many of our customers have registered their company name like yourcompany.com and then have also registered domain names that deal with their industry, like recordingstudio.com or partystore.com. A bonus feature for our Full-Service clients and websites hosted on our in-house server is that TAC does not charge additional hosting fees for having more than one domain name. The initial setup fee of $50 applies to each name register but, there are no additional hosting fees which many other hosting services charge $5-10 per month for each additional domain.

How can I transfer an existing domain name?

It's easy to transfer your website and domain name to TACWeb. Just contact TACWeb and we can submit the proper modification requests to transfer your domain name.

Below are some helpful hints, information and answers to common questions regarding domain name registration.

Whether you place an order by telephone or via our online order form, be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. We will send a modification template to InterNIC once your new account is activated. You should keep the service at the present site while waiting for InterNIC to complete the transfer. We will provide you with a temporary IP address so you can mirror the site on our server. All email and web pages will still be accessed from the current site. When InterNIC receives the template, they will generate an acknowledgment request (Ack/Nak) and send it to the current administrative contact of the domain. Once the administrative contact acknowledges the transfer, InterNIC will update their records.

All internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect new site locations. This is called propagation. Propagation is usually completed in about 72 hours, during which time visitors could get transferred to either site. At the end of the 72 hours you should contact the previous host to have them delete the old domain from their records and update their DNS record. If you use this same provider for your Internet access you will not be able to access your domain site at TACWeb until they update their DNS.

It is very important that you use the same company name and address on the template as that which is on file at InterNIC. If the company name differs from that which is on file, InterNIC will treat the transfer as a delete/new (see below), and will not allow the transfer to be completed.

Whom shall I contact regarding InterNIC billing?

If TAC registered your domain name or transferred it to our servers, TAC will automatically renew your domain name and invoice your company.

If you registered the domain on your own through Network Solutions:

To pay for registration or renewal of your domain by phone call 1-888-771-3000.

To pay for registration or renewal of your domain name online go to http://www.netsol.com/renew .

What is a NIC handle?

Every entity registered with InterNIC has a NIC handle. You can use the same NIC handle as contacts for several domains. This way, if you make a change to the NIC handle (i.e., the e-mail address), all domains using that NIC handle will be updated as well.

What are some common InterNIC problems I'm likely to encounter?

The most common problems experienced with InterNIC stem from outdated or invalid contact information. It's important to keep the information for the contacts, especially the e-mail address, up-to-date. If a modification to the domain is needed and the e-mail address for the administrative contact is no longer valid, they will not receive the acknowledgment request, and the modification will take considerably longer.

The other common problem is using a different organization name on the template than that which is currently on file. InterNIC will not allow a transfer to be completed if the organization name and address information does not match. For best results, copy the information directly from the WHOIS (do a domain search above) and paste it into the order form.

Can I register a non-US domain name?

TAC can serve domain names other than .com, .net, or .org, but the end user will be responsible to register their domain name with the proper local authority within your country. Upon activating your account, TAC will provide you with an IP address that should be used on your domain application form.

Here are the steps for activating a non-US domain:

1. Check with the agency in your country who manages domain names to obtain their registration procedures. You also need to get the proper form or template that is required for the registration.

2. Submit your request for a TAC domain account via our online form and use your domain name (ie. your_name.de or your_name.es ).

TAC will e-mail you an activation notice that will include an IP address.

Complete the necessary information on your domain form or template and be sure to include the IP address that was provided by TAC.

When you register with your regional NIC, you will need to supply the names and IP addresses of the nameservers which will be servicing your site. We can provide you this information at the time you place your order.

Please e-mail Contact us if you have any questions.

Many international NICs require that the account be open on our servers before they will allow the name to be registered. In those cases, you should allow 36 hours after your account is opened before attempting to register the domain name, as our nameservers will not require an authoritative response.
